Report: What are climate rights and do we know how to assert them?

On 27.06.2023, the BlueLink Foundation organized the traditional civil forum "Time to act for climate rights" at the House of Europe in Sofia. The forum was attended by 41 people – politicians, clean air experts, doctors, environmentalists, scientists, lawyers, climate activists and representatives of communities affected by various environmental and climate issues. The purpose of the forum was to raise people's awareness of their climate rights, supported by the EU. The focus of the forum is the concept of "climate rights", how they are understood and defended by Bulgarian defenders of nature, climate, human rights and representatives of communities affected by climate change.

The forum is part of the project "Discussions and Actions on Climate and Environment", funded by the European Union and coordinated by the European network "Justice and Environment" (J&E), in partnership with the International Institute for Law and Environment (IIDMA, Spain) , the BlueLink Foundation (Bulgaria), the Alliance of the Austrian Environmental Movement (ÖKOBÜRO, Austria), the Environmental Management and Law Association (EMLA, Hungary), the Legal Center for the Protection of Human Rights (PIC, Slovenia) and the Estonian Center for Environmental law (EELC, Estonia).
