Toxic Waste Seminar: Journalists and Activists from Russia and the EU invited

Ecological rights centre BELLONA in partnership with the Bulgarian BlueLink Foundation, Association of the environmental journalists in Russia, Russian-German bureau of environmental information, Committee for saving Pechora, Perm organization for animal protection "Za Zverey" and Rostov organization "Eco-Logica" with the support of the EU-Russia Civil Society Forum is implementing a project "Quality Journalism for Environmental Activists in Russia and the EU".

The aim of the project is to develop professional skills and push for experience exchange between environmental activists and journalists from Russia and the EU with the focus on investigating waste disposal problems, including hazardous non-radioactive waste.

Under the project we will hold a seminar for activists and journalists from Russia and the EU with experts in journalism and environmental protection. Russian-English translation will be provided. Travel and accommodation costs of participants are covered by the project. The seminar will take place from 11th to 14th of February 2019. After the seminar participants will have one month to write an article on the chosen environmental problem, connected with waste management and relevant for their country/region.

Seminar venue is St.Petersburg, Russia. Selection of the participants will be held on the competitive basis. Newcomer activists and journalists with passion towards environmental issues will be a priority.
