The DANURB quality label: collecting good practices, valuable products and services along the Danube

The DANUrB Quality Label stands for and uses the rich cultural heritage, economic and social development, and strong community along the Danube River. This became evident at the DANUrB+ partner meeting, which took place for two days on May 20-21, 2021. It gathered online more than 40 participants from 79 partners' organizations and 6 Danube countries (Bulgaria, Croatia, Hungary, Romania, Serbia, and Slovakia). Brainstorming hasalready started between the partners about its characteristics and features, branding elements, standardization for Danube Days, legal requirements, etc. Some good examples of quality labels were given from each country and there was a discussion about the most appropriate symbol, which has to be related to the Danube and will suit best the DANUrB+ slogan: "A Journey Connecting Communities".

One of the organized online workshops was about the Danurbanity game, which aim is to create a group challenge, discussions and share facts and information about the  Danube sites, through fun and multicolored playboard. The player should fill it in with most of its team's fish scales (represented in a certain color), so to  be proclaimed a winner. The game was originally designed for children, but it can be played by any age category. Some of the partners shared their vast experience using the game with children and students on the previously implemented DANUrB project.

Other workshops were about evaluation and selection of underused heritage sites to be valorized by the DANUrB+ action plans and defining a framework for working with stakeholder networks.

All the tasks and deliverables of the project were thoroughly discussed on the second day. Every partner had a chance to share what he hasachieved until now and what are the future steps to be taken for the development of the certain responsibilities.

The first International DANUrB+ Partner Workshop in Sambor, Serbia is planned for 15th - 17th June 2021. Several best practices will be presented, exclusive cultural tours in various Danube villages are planned, as well as a special Workshop for journalists to raise the awareness on the project's objectives.

The text was prepared within the project DANube Urban Brand + Building Regional and Local Resilience through the Valorization of Danube's Cultural Heritage (DANUrB +) . The project is co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the Instrument for Pre-Accession Assistance (IPA), as well as the national budget of Republic of Bulgaria through the budget of the Ministry of Regional Development and Public Works.
